Brand new and they already want to put it into a museum. Sounds like every piece of computer technology I've ever purchased.

French anti-racism group sues Yahoo! for auctioning Nazi relics

French anti-racism group sues Yahoo! for auctioning Nazi relics: Knobel said there are currently over 1,000 Nazi-related items, such as pictures, coins and flags, available at the auction site at www.yahoo.com. That number was confirmed in a web search by The Associated Press.

Freedom of expression sucks sometimes. If I was Yahoo!, I wouldn't pull the auctions, I would make sure the ad banners these people see when viewing these auctions pointed to Holocaust educational web sites.HOLOCAUST HEROES

Deja.com: Guru of the Week #69

Deja.com: Guru of the Week #69 I have found many people who claim to be C++ experts but can't even name the functions that can be implicitly defined for a class by the compiler. Also, check out the GotW archives.

I really dislike call waiting.

I really dislike call waiting. I got a new phone and it has call waiting. I don't get a lot of calls, but last night I got two calls at the same freaking time. I mungled the call waiting procedure unknowingly hanging up on the first person who called and then excitedly asked the second person if I could call them back. I was excited because I was trying to fumble through the call waiting process on this new phone. Anyway, after blurting out the request to the second person they agree to a call back, but apparently as I found out later, they take it personally because I am speaking in a loud excited voice, I try to switch back to the first person only to find myself disconnected from both calls. I call the first person and apologize for my lack of talent using call waiting. And after a shorter then expected chat, I call the second person and get connected to their voice mail. It hasn't been that long and I think, okay this is punishment for not taking the call earlier, so I leave a polite voicemail. After a few minutes of the silent treatment, the second person calls back, thank goodness my punishment was short. It is explained to me that this person does not enjoy being screamed at and in fact reacts quite badly to it. Oh geez. So, I have to explain that my new phone has call waiting and that I really hate call waiting and that it was just my frustration at having to deal with call waiting that made me speak in an excited loud volume. I apologized and promised to control myself better in the future. And that's why I hate freaking call waiting.
